On 3/31 a package was delivered to the home of the person who ordered it. This was an old address, and the owner is unable to track the package. Case forwarded to the USPS for review. Report #16-0429-002

On 3/28 the victim was contacted by her credit card company and asked if she had made some suspicious purchases. When the victim stated she had not made the purchases the account was closed. The credit card company asked for a police report but will be investigating the case. Case closed pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0330-002.

On 3/18 the victim was contacted by a company claiming to be a loan service and that the victim was approved for a grant. The victim proceed to give the company $3,257.00 for various fees, but never received the grant. An attempt to reclaim their money has been met with negative results. Case taken. On 3/29 at 1408 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. A records check was conducted on both subjects which revealed warrants for both. One subject had a warrant out of Brisbane for $7,500 and the other out of Sonoma County for $10,000. Both warrants were confirmed and the subjects were transported to the county jail. On 3/28 at 1008 hours, officer conducted a probation search of a residence. The subject on probation was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke it. The subject was also found to be under the influence of methamphetamine. All are violations of his probation. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the county jail. On 3/27/16 at 1750 hours, officers responded to a welfare check. Upon arrival it was determined that the subject was in danger to themselves and was placed on a 72 hour hold. Case closed. Report #16-0327-003.

On 3/27 at 1120 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, it was revealed the driver had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was cited and released from the scene and the vehicle was towed. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0327-002.

On 3/27 at 0210 hours, an officer contacted the occupants of a suspicious vehicle. The officer smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. Methamphetamine and open alcohol containers were found. The occupants were cited and released and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0327-001.

On 3/26 at 0831 hours, officers responded to a call of a male and female yelling. Upon arrival officers made contact with a boyfriend and girlfriend who had been involved in a physical altercation. The male sustained visible scratches and the female was arrested as the primary aggressor. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0326-003.

On 3/26 at 0334 hours, an officer responded to an auto collision. The driver stated they had been tired while driving home form worked and collided into a pole. No injuries reported. Case closed. Report # 16-0326-002.

On 3/25 between 2100 and 2350 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the window of a vehicle and took a tool bag containing a cellphone, social security card, and ATM card were taken. The total loss is approximately $1000.00. There is no suspect information at this time. Case closed pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0326-001.

On 3/25 at 2104 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle. Upon conducting a records check a warrant out of Redwood City was revealed for $7,500. The warrant was confirmed and the driver was given a notice to appear and released from the scene. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0325-005.

On 3/25 at 1700 hours, a driver watched a pallet jack fall out of a box truck. The driver was unable to find the driver and reported the pallet jack as found property. Case closed. Report #16-0325-004.

On 3/25 at 1545 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with license plates that did not belong to the vehicle. Upon contact the officer found the driver to be driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance, expired registration and displaying false plates with intent. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was cited and released. Case to be founded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0325-002.

On 3/24 at 1300 hours, a girlfriend and boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. The boyfriend sustained bruising and scratching and the girlfriend sustained a fractured knuckle from punching. The girlfriend was cited and released while she was at the hospital. On 3/24 at 0838 hours, a vehicle struck another vehicle and an A-Frame for a business. The driver of the vehicle left the scene without contacting the owner of the vehicle or sign. There is no suspect information at this time. Report #16-0315-002.

On 3/23 it was reported that an employee that had been terminated was refusing to return a laptop and computer owned by the company. On 3/24, officers spoke with the terminated employee who stated the items had been mailed to the company. The items were later received and the business requested no further police assistance. On 3/23 an officer towed a vehicle that had previously been marked for abandonment. Attempts to contact the owner were met with negative results. Case closed. Report #16-0323-001.

On 3/23, Sergeant Borg, Officer Olson and Community Service Officer Roller attended the senior luncheon. The officers spoke with the group about current trends in scams and ID theft.

On 3/23, Officer Malone and Officer Hunt attended the Lipman Middle School Health and Wellness Fair where they discussed safety topics.

Sometime between 3/18 and 3/21, an unknown suspect(s) took the victim’s rear license plate without permission. The stolen plate was entered into the stolen vehicle system. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0321-003.

On 3/21 at 0118 hours, officers responded to a call of a vehicle blocking the roadway. Upon arrival they noticed a van parked in the middle of the street. An attempt was made to contact the owner, but the owner was not found. The vehicle was towed from the scene for creating a hazard. Report #16-0321-001

On 3/21 officers responded to a suspicious person call. Upon contact, the subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe to smoke it. The subject was cited and released from the scene. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0321-004.

On 3/20 at 1758 hours, an officer located a suspicious vehicle parked in a “No Parking” zone. Upon contact with the driver, the officer found a hypodermic needle and other drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released from the scene. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0320-003.

On 3/20 sometime between 0100 and 1100 hours, an unknown suspect(s) vandalized the victim’s house window and vehicle window with a BB. There is no information at this time. Case suspended pending further investigate leads. Report #16-0320-001.

On 3/19 at 0243 hours, officers responded to a call of a drunk woman. Upon arrival offices contacted a subject who showed signs of alcohol intoxication to the point of not being able to care for herself. The subject was taken into custody and cited and released to the staff at First Chance. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0319-002.

On 3/19 at 0139 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle. Upon contact and after testing, the officer determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was cited and released to the staff at First Chance. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0319-001.

On 3/18 at 1716 hours, a victim came in to report that his car had been vandalized by a known suspect. The victim signed a citizen’s arrest and the suspect was contacted. The suspect showed signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine and was taken into custody. The suspect was cited and released to the staff at First Chance. Case closed by arrest. Sometime on 3/15, a resident lost her wallet at a business on Visitacion Ave. There was an unknown amount of money and credit cards in the wallet. The wallet has not been found. Report #16-0316-002.

On 3/16 at 1540 hours, an officer contacted a subject known to have a $5,000 warrant out of Brisbane. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody. While searching the subject, methamphetamine and a pipe to smoke it was found on the subject. The subject was transported to the county jail. Report #16-0316-001.

Sometime between 3/10 and 3/11 an unknown suspect entered an unlocked home and took $750 in cash. This same crime happened again on 3/15 when $833 was taken. The doors are kept unlocked because the occupant has lost her keys. The victim also stated she suspects a friend of hers has taken the cash. This case has been suspended pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0315-003.

On 3/15 at 2007 hours, a vehicle struck another vehicle in a parking lot. The driver of the vehicle did not leave a note for the owner of the vehicle that was struck. There is no suspect information at this time. Report #16-0315-002.

On 3/14 at 1309 hours, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a broken taillight. The vehicle failed to yield to the officer and evaded the officer. There is currently suspect information and this case is still under investigation. Report #16-0314-001.

On 3/13 at 1331 hours, an officer contacted a suspicious subject at the train station. A records check revealed several warrants out of San Francisco. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was transported to the county jail. Case closed. Report #16-0313-001.

On 3/12 at 0918 hours, an officer located a vehicle that was creating a hazard by blocking the roadway. The vehicle was towed for violating vehicle code 22651(b). Case closed. Report #116-0312-002.

On 3/12 at 0250 hours, an officer made contact with a subject in a suspicious vehicle. A records check revealed a $7,500 warrant out of San Francisco. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was transported to the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0312-001.

On 3/11 between 1730 1830 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the window of a vehicle and took a tool bag containing keys and a checkbook. The total loss is approximately $390. There is no suspect information at this time. Case closed pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0311-002.

On 3/10 between 1800 and 1825 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed a window of a vehicle and took a messenger bag. The bag contained miscellaneous items including a laptop, cell phone chargers and gift cards. There is no suspect information at this time. Case closed pending further leads. Report #16-0310-002.

On 3/10 at 0840 hours, an officer located a backpack belonging to a victim of an auto burglary that occurred in Palo Alto. The backpack was returned to the owner who stated everything was still in the backpack expect her laptop. The victim stated she had already given her laptop information to Palo Alto PD. On 3/9 at 1957 hours, a probation search was conducted on a subject. The subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe to smoke it. The subject was cited and released from the scene. Case closed. Report #16-0309-002.

On 3/9 a resident found a backpack in her compost bin. Inside the back pack she found miscellaneous items along with drug paraphernalia. It is unknown who the owner of the backpack is. The backpack was taken and booked for destruction. Report #16-0309-001.

On 3/8 the reporting party stated she had posted on craigslist that she had a room for rent. She communicated with a subject via email and text who asked her to cash a check from Peoples United Bank. The reporting party was to keep some and send the rest back to the subject. The check appeared to be fake and was never cashed. Case to be handled by Peoples United Bank. Report #16-0308-002.

On 3/8 at 1429 hours, an officer located a suspicious vehicle. The officer contacted the car dealer on the paper plate who stated the woman who purchased the car used a fake name and never paid for the car. The woman then came out of a house and spoke with the officer. A records check revealed a $165,000 warrant out of Richmond PD. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody. The vehicle was returned to the auto dealer. Case closed by arrest. Report #16-0308-001.

On 3/7 at 0855 hours, an officer located a vehicle with expired registration over 6 months in violation of vehicle code 22651(o)(1) . The vehicle was towed from the scene. Case closed. Report #16-0307-001.

On 3/5 at 1850 hours, a male and female were involved in a disturbance that became physical. The female refused to leave the male’s home and rushed back in. The male forcibly removed her from the home. Both parties were interviewed and sent on their way. Case is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for review. Report #16-0305-004.

On 3/5 at 0320 hours, a male and a female subject were involved in a verbal dispute. The female stated the male shoved her, slapped her, brandished a knife and threw her phone out the window. The male subject stated none of it happened. No arrests were made and the case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review. Case 16-0305-002.

On 3/5 at 0048 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon contact the officer determined the driver was possibly under the influence of a controlled substance. Tests were conducted and confirmed the driver was under the influence. The driver was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe to smoke it with. The driver was taken into custody and transported to First Chance where he was cited and released. Case closed. Report #16-0305-001.

On 3/5 at 2010 hours, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a building. No items were taken while the suspect(s) were inside. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further investigative leads. Report #16-0305-005.

On 3/3 at 1556 hours, an officer was driving down the street when he heard a juvenile yell an expletive at him. The officer stopped and asked him why, and the juvenile stated it was his right. The officer contacted the juveniles’ parents who asked the officer to transport their child home. Prior to getting in the patrol vehicle, the officer asked the juvenile if he had anything illegal on him and the juvenile stated there was marijuana and a pipe in his bag. The juvenile was later released to his parents and an informational report was taken. Report #16-0304-002.

On 3/4, an officer noticed two subjects who were known to have committed a theft in Colma. The subjects were arrested and Colma Police responded to the scene and took the subjects into custody. Case closed. Report #16-0304-001.

On 3/2 between 0900 and 1400 hours, Officer Hunt read to the children for Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday.

On 2/26 an unknown suspect attempted to open a line of credit in the victim’s name and also attempted to purchase a number of gift cards. The credit and purchases were denied. There is no suspect information at this time and PayPal is investigating the incident. Report #16-0301-004

Between an unknown date and time, an unknown suspect attempted to open a line of credit using the victim’s name. The victim’s bank declined the line of credit and called the victim. There is no suspect information at this time and no loss. Report #16-0301-003.

On 3/1 at 1328 hours, an officer responded to a call of an abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival the officer noticed the vehicle displayed signs of not being moved for an extended period of time. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Report #16-0301-002.

On 3/1 at 1210 a collision occurred when a driver rounding a turning lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a curb and struck a tree. One occupant was transported to the hospital by ambulance and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Report #16-0301-001.
